SWEDISH FAIRY TALE

Tomtebobarnen ( CHILDREN of the FOREST) is the treausre I found for my special Sant Jordi 09.

It is a Swedish fairy tale written and illustrated by Elsa Beskow in 1910.

This is the kind of book in which four little children live in a little house in the forest and learn the language of the nature and the animals. Besides, the environment is treated with respect and, the forest a place where is possible to live.

It is a very smart book, the story is very understandable and the author represents each character using black and white and colour illustrations.

Very suitable for children up 4 y.o. I explained it to my students 6 and 7 y.o. They got so surprised to see such a kind of tale, especially when observing that the animals and other creatures were bigger than the four little children!

It is funny how such a charming tale that comes from the Swedish culture, now is being used as a useful educative material in some specific schools that believes in the humanistic learning and teaching strategy called "Waldorf method".

The main important is to help children discover and respect other cultures and appreciate other kind of stories, illustrations.

I must say that after explaining the tale, some of the children told me they really liked!

Els nens del bosc, una preciositat de conte trobat en la primera paradeta de contes on vaig aturar-me en la Diada de Sant Jordi.

Està escrit i il.lustrat per l´artista sueca Elsa Beskow, l´any 1910.

( És un tipus de conte utilitzat en algunes escoles que hi treballen en la
pedagogia Waldorf).

Ens explica com quatre petits germans viuen i conviuen en una caseta al bosc, amb la seva família, envoltats de natura i animals.

D´una banda, la història tracta sobre allò que fan els nens al llarg de les estacions de l´any, i d´altra, com aprenen a respectar i cuidar l´entorn on viuen gràcies a les explicacions i consells dels pares i d´atres criatures...

És realment un conte molt recomanable per a infants a partir de 4 anyets.
Jo el vaig explicar al grup de 1r, aprofitant aspectes de l´entorn que hi estem tractant i , va funcionar molt bé, es van quedar bocabadats en veure com estan representats els quatre protagonistes i els animalons que hi surten!

La història és interessant, entenedora, i les il.lustracions són ben diferents al que observem i tenim a la biblioteca d´aula. Tant la il.lustració en blanc i negre com la de color conviuen a banda i banda de les pàgines d´aquest conte.

Us puc dir que al final d´explicar-lo em van dir que els va agradar...!
